Britto [ Workshop & Residency]

www.brittoarts.org

Britto is an artists-led, not for profit trust based in Dhaka and Chittagong, committed towards promoting exchange and dialogue between artistic
communities internationally and within the region. The organisation makes regular local workshops, such as an iron casting workshop in 2003, a performance workshop in Chittagong in 2004, and a workshop introducing the use of video in 2005. Britto also has run an international residency programme since 2003, which has invited artists from France, UK, Hong Kong, Egypt, Uganda, and Sri Lanka.

Britto was founded as a result of its initial international workshop, which invited 19 artists from Bangladesh, the rest of Asia, and Europe, and took place between 24th Jan to 7th Feb 2003. A second international workshop was held in Bogra in 2004.
