Cyfuniad [ Workshop ]

Cyfuniad International Artists' Workshop has taken place twice at Plas Caerdeon, a converted stately home, near Barmouth in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales in 1999 and 2001. In total 45 artists including 21 artists from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East have participated. Many of the UK artists were from Wales and North-West UK.

Cyfuniad means ‘coming together’ in Welsh. At both workshops, the artists worked at sites all across Plas Caerdeon. Each year the open day showing the work in progress at the end of the 2 weeks attracted visitors from London, Liverpool and European countries as well as from the region.

Both workshops were followed by several associated exhibitions and residencies.
