Km0 (kilometro zero) [ Workshop ]

The first Km0 International Artists’ Workshop took place at Las Barreras near Santa Cruz, from 18th November to 2nd December 2001. 14 artists from Bolivia and 10 international artists participated in the workshop which was organised by a Working Group of local artists, assisted by Triangle Arts Trust and coordinated by Raquel Schwartz and Cecilia Baya.

The second workshop in 2005, again led by Raquel Schwartz, was conceived as an 'urbano' workshop - its base and concept centred around Santa Cruz and the urban context.

Kiosko/Simple [ Residency]

www.kioskogaleria.com

Simple studios is a design and visual communication organisation, set up by artists in order to produce and part fund a programme of non profit activities ranging from exhibitions and conferences, to educational outreach projects involving local communities.

Kiosko is Simple Studios' gallery, intended as a platform for debate and open to the various artistic manifestations ranging from design to the fine arts.

Simple/Kiosko work with local and international artists, supporting them in developing new work by offering them a space and the practical, as well as curatorial, support in developing new ideas and showing them to the wider public. Developed out of Kilometro Zero (KM0), Simple/Kiosco is born out of the desire to create a permanent space for exchange of ideas and for stimulating the dialogue between the art world and the social context.
