Lugar a Dudas [ Workshop & Residency]
As suggested by the name, Lugar a Dudas (place of doubt) is a space for debate, reflection and critical dialogue around contemporary art, with a focus on the relationship between art practices and the social context that informs them. More than a space for exhibitions and promotion of a finished product, Lugar a Dudas is particularly interested in the research on the issues and debates linked to the social sphere, highlighting view points and contradictions through exhibitions, conferences, workshops and residencies. Established in 2004 by Oscar Muñoz with the support of Sally Misrahi, in 2006 the space began to organise residencies that bring Colombian and international artists to spend time in Cali and produce work on site.
Lugar a Dudas is a unique set up in Cali and houses a library within an old colonial style house, with flexible rooms used for exhibitions, screenings, workshops and conferences. The house also includes two self contained small buildings used as work/live spaces for visiting artists in residence.
